Kim Hernandez, Owner & Pet Sitter
I am a local Pet Sitter serving Cass County and other surrounding areas. I am a Fear Free Certified Professional. Certified in Pet First Aid and CPR and affiliated with Pet Sitters International, which means I am current on industry standards and changes and adhere to a code of ethics regarding professional and reliable pet care.
I'm often asked, “Why did you decide to become a Pet Sitter?”. Well, the best answer for that is – “I didn’t, it chose me!”. I’ve always had pets in my home, from the usual dogs, cats, hamsters, rabbits, fish to the not so usual turtles and frogs.
One of my biggest passions is volunteering and being a foster parent for a local animal rescue; giving the animals much needed love and attention until they find their forever homes.
It was while I was volunteering at a local animal shelter, that the thought came to me, “It would be nice to get paid to do this." Well, there was my answer, my direction, the path to take! It all clicked into place in my mind and heart. Within weeks, Whiskers & Tails Pet Service was born!
I know that every pet is unique and requires individualized care, which is why I take time to get to know each one of my clients.
So, whether you’re going on a trip, have a busy schedule, or simply need an extra set of hands, you can trust me to provide top-notch pet care that exceeds your expectations.

I have a knowledge base in animal body language, dog walking, behavior and training basics, enrichment, home life, travel, administering medications, and more so that they can offer top-level Fear Free care to pets and provide owners with basic support and advice. I'm happy to help educate pet owners on reading dog and cat body language and provide ideas for how enrichment and training can be incorporated into the pet’s environment and routine, promoting not only a calmer pet-sitting stay but also a richer, more fulfilling life.

I am very excited to announce that Whiskers & Tails is implementing new Pet Sitting Software to improve your experience as you use my services! The new software is called Time To Pet, and all of my customers now have their very own Client Portal account on the system. Using your Client Portal, you can now provide real-time updates to all of your pet information, your information as well as request future services, view all scheduled events, view your invoices, and more.
